Creative Learning Access Program

Subsidised tickets and travel for schools with barriers to attending our Creative Learning program.

At Geelong Arts Centre, we believe that the arts are a crucial part of every child’s education and having creative experiences is essential in the development of self-expression, empathy and increased engagement in education.

We also understand that some schools and students face barriers that make attending arts-based experiences challenging.

With the generous support of the Eric Ormond Baker Charitable Fund, we are thrilled to be able to deliver our Creative Learning Access Program commencing in 2024.

The Access Program allows schools with an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) Rating of 1000 or below to apply for subsidised tickets and travel. This will enable schools to see performances or participate in workshop programs without financial barriers.

Priority will be given to:

  • Schools with an ICSEA Rating of 1000 or below
  • Schools in the G21 Region – from within one of the following municipalities:
    • City of Greater Geelong
    • Golden Plains
    • Surf Coast
    • Queenscliff
    • Colac Otway

How does it work?

Eligible schools can apply for subsided tickets and/or bus travel to assist in participation in a Geelong Arts Centre Creative Learning program or performance. Based on the funding available in the Access Program, schools’ applications will be assessed by our Creative Learning team. A notification of outcome will then be emailed to the school.

Schools who are granted a bus travel subsidy will be required to arrange their own bus bookings and payment. They will then claim their subsidy back from the Geelong Arts Centre at the conclusion of the event. Please see specific process for claiming a bus subsidy in the Terms and Conditions.
