The Start-Up initiative is designed for projects that are in the early stages of creation and need support to solidify ideas from creative development into further 2nd stage development or preparation for presentation. We are looking for projects that demonstrate clear ambitions, connection to audience, and understand how and why they would like to access space and resources at the Centre. Successful applicants may be offered:

  • Cash contribution – up to $5,000 or
  • Up to $5,000 value in in-kind support for example:
    • Access to rehearsal studio spaces
    • Access to office and meeting spaces
    • Creative, production & producing mentorship opportunity
    • Support & advice towards drafting and securing funding & philanthropic support
    • Marketing support for creative developments and project showings

We encourage successful applicants to give back to our thriving artistic community by offering a small public engagement outcome either during or at the completion of their residency. This may include, but not limited to:

  • Social media sharing
  • informal or formal showings
  • workshops and masterclasses
  • script readings
  • feedback sessions
  • creative meet & greet and other networking style events

The form of this public engagement outcome can be negotiated with the successful applicant and the Centre is happy to assist you to define this outcome prior to your residency. You are also welcome to propose a public engagement outcome at the time of your application.
