The search is on for Australia’s funniest teens!
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival's one-of-a-kind, national secondary school comedy competition encourages teenagers with a talent for comedy to unleash their comic voice through stand-up, sketch, musical or physical comedy.
Either register to attend a free workshop and compete or come support and see the next generation of Australian comedians hit the stage in this special teenage comedy bash!
I want to be named Australia's funniest teen...
All you need is 3-5 minutes of original comedy material of any genre. Stand-up, sketch, narrative, solo, group, musical, physical – all are welcomed. Heats are being held around the country and comprise a 2-hour workshop where students rehearse and refine their act with the help of professional comedian, Annie Louey, followed by an opportunity to perform for a live audience!
The funniest entrants go on to compete in state finals, with the winners invited to participate in the National Grand Final during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival! The winner will earn themselves a sweet $1,500 cash prize and a workshop package for their school.
If you’re a funny teen, or the teacher, parent or guardian of one visit classclowns.com.au to register and to learn more.

Annie Louie
Annie Louey is an award-winning and multi-talented comedian and presenter who moves seamlessly between television, radio and stage. She is known for her rapidfire crowd work, blunt delivery and cheeky charm that allows her to get away with almost anything. Her fan base is growing rapidly as she embarks on her fifth solo show ‘Gold’, debuting at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2023. This comes after Annie received a Moosehead Award for bold, innovative ideas to support her show ‘Annie Louey is Flirting with Death’ last year. Her confident stage presence earned her a spot touring around Australia with the Comedy Festival Roadshow.
