Two titans of the symphonic world together in Geelong Symphony Orchestra's first concert for 2024.
Sibelius, the Finnish composer renowned for symphonies and tone poems, and Brahms, the mid-romantic period composer, one of the "3 great B's" of German music. Sibelius' Violin concerto is a standard piece for all notable violinists, and the only concerto he wrote. Add Brahms fourth symphony for an evening of ravishing orchestral music.
- Conductor Richard Davis
- Violin Markiyan Melnychenko
