Geelong, Australia’s only UNESCO City of Design, will host the annual Cities of Design Subnetwork meeting from 12-14 October 2021.
The theme for this year’s convening is REIMAGINE, RENEW, REGENERATE.
This virtual event gathers members and their communities from the 40 design cities in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network for a compelling 3-day program featuring leading design experts from Australia, Europe, Asia, North and South America and the Middle East.
Not only will the global event be streamed to the world live from the Geelong Arts Centre stage, but our very own CEO and Creative Director, Joel McGuinness, will present two sessions as part of the program.
REIMAGINE explores how cultural, creative, and social design principles have been used in reimagining new spaces and processes.
RENEW examines global projects that put sustainability at the forefront of clever design.
REGENERATE looks closely at the role urban design plays in revitalising cities and how people experience the built environment and the spaces between them.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase Geelong to the world and bring together a multi-disciplinary group of thought-leaders to address social, environmental, cultural and urban design projects.
The event will be live-streamed each day from 9 pm AEDT.
