Geelong Arts Centre is a body established under Victorian statute and is subject to the requirements of the Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) which are contained in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) (PDPA).
The Geelong Arts Centre is committed to the responsible handling of personal information, and to protecting an individual's right to privacy. Accordingly, the Geelong Arts Centre is committed to full compliance with its obligations under the PDPA. The PDPA contains 10 IPPs that govern the collection and handling of personal information. The IPPs and the health privacy principles are similar.
The IPPs are designed to protect the privacy of Victorians by ensuring that personal information kept by public bodies is managed securely and responsibly. The regulation of personal information management will assist to promote the free and appropriate exchange of information in our community.
