MELBOURNE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA GETS ROWDY WITH JAMS FOR JUNIORS IN GEELONG
Harness the power of music to inspire and engage the mini-maestro in your life with Jams for Juniors, the MSO’s interactive musical workshop for children aged 0-5 years, their siblings, parents, grandparents and carers.
Led by dynamic presenter, composer and conductor Karen Kyriakou, Jams for Juniors offers children and their families the opportunity to discover and play along with beautiful arrangements of orchestral repertoire.
A perfect introduction to classical music, Karen Kyiakou will guide the littlest music lovers through the orchestra for a 40-minute workshop that aims to break down musical barriers by familiarising young children with instruments and sounds through educational games and activities.
In a unique classical workshop, six musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform selections from Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals, where music represents different creatures, great and small.
Come prepared to clap, stamp, honk, quack and sing along with the marvellous flock of MSO musicians.
A post-concert instrumental petting zoo lets audiences get up close and personal with the orchestral tools of the trade.
Jams for Juniors will run three sessions at Geelong Arts Centre’s newest performane space, Studio 4, on 7 March.
