Leading Ladies and John Foreman kick start Geelong Arts Centre 'Our Season 2023'

Taking to the Costa Hall stage on Friday 17 February, Lucy Durack, Caroline O’Connor and Silvie Paladino join John Foreman’s 30-piece Australian Pops Orchestra for a night of music theatre excellence at Leading Ladies.

For one night only, three brilliant musical theatre stars come together for a dazzling concert of Broadway hits and fabulous show-tunes. As individual artists, each of these musical theatre luminaries has a storied career extending from the glittering lights of Broadway to West End, matched with an unmissable stage presence.

Lucy Durack, Caroline O’Connor and Silvie Paladino are without doubt some of Australia’s most beloved musical theatre exports. When they come together, these female powerhouses present an unrivalled music theatre tour-de-force. Joined by musical mastermind John Foreman, this is a concert of music theatre brilliance like no other.

Gracing the iconic waterfront venue, Costa Hall, Leading Ladies is a memorable night, exploring the songs, stories, laughs and the triumphs of these three amazing leading ladies and their highly regarded careers.

ABOUT THE LEADING LADIES & JOHN FOREMAN

Lucy Durack starred as Glinda in the Australian production of Wicked, and has starred in Legally Blonde: The Musical and Shrek The Musical as well as television productions including Neighbours and The Masked Singer.

Caroline O’Connor’s stellar career includes her Olivier Award-nominated West End performance as Mabel in Mack and Mabel, Velma Kelly in Chicago on Broadway and her stunning tango in Baz Luhrmann’s Academy Award winning movie, Moulin Rouge.

Silvie Paladino’s incredible career also spans the globe, from Eponine in Les Misérables in Australia, New Zealand and on London’s West End, then the role of Fantine, also in Les Mis on the West End, to lead roles in Cats, Mamma Mia!, Miss Saigon and her popular annual appearances on Channel Nine’s Carols by Candlelight.

John Foreman OAM is a musical director, pianist and composer, who has played integral roles behind the scenes of the likes of Australian Idol, Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight, The Sydney Orchestra’s 2000 Olympic Opening Ceremony and many more impressive music demonstrations.
