Experience entertainment excellence as Geelong Arts Centre prepares to dazzle in 2023 with extraordinary arts experiences to suit everyone.

Proudly supported by Major Artistic Partner, Deakin University, and Innovation Partner, Costa Asset Management, Geelong Arts Centre is bringing the best of the best to Geelong with ‘Our Season 2023’.

Fit for Victoria’s fastest growing city, Geelong Arts Centre believes in the power of the arts to provide new perspectives, challenge our thinking, and reveal otherwise hidden sides to the stories we tell ourselves and one another.

Featuring eight stories that break boundaries, start conversations, and celebrate innovation, ‘Our Season 2023’ features high-calibre works from a multitude of the nation’s most highly regarded companies, including Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, Griffin Theatre Company and many more.

Kicking off the season with a bang, in February John Foreman’s Australian Pops Orchestra brings Australian musical theatre stars, Lucy Durack, Caroline O’Connor and Silvie Paladino, to Geelong in Leading Ladies.

Later in March, after a sold-out run on the West End, Suzie Miller’s acclaimed one-woman show Prima Facie will hit Geelong Arts Centre with the original production by Griffin Theatre Company, starring Sheridan Harbridge.

Then in May, Sydney Dance Company presents ab [intra]; a journey through the intensity of human existence combining ambient sound, exquisite dancing and ferocious physicality.

In July, The Australian Ballet On Tour celebrates 40 fantastic years of taking ballet all around the nation with the most moving, enthralling and exciting moments of its repertoire.

Come August, Opera Australia’s finest voices and a live orchestra present Rossini’s most famous ‘opera buffa’, The Barber of Seville; a musical masterpiece with a timeless storyline.

September will see Michelle Law’s brand-new glitzy intergenerational comedy come to life with Belvoir St Theatre Production, Miss Peony.

Then in October, Bell Shakespeare hits Geelong with their reimagining of Shakespeare’s famed Twelfth Night.

Finally, in November, Sydney Theatre Company and Moogahlin Performing Arts present The Visitors; a riveting insight into one of the most impactful and painful days in Australia’s history, and an engaging study of how communities respond to change and the unknown.

Highlighting the country’s most celebrated artists as well as the brightest rising stars of the stage, Geelong Arts Centre is extremely proud to play a part in navigating the way forward for bold entertainment experiences and unique opportunities across the region.
