A FIRST MEETING INSPIRES CONNOR MOREL’S HILARIOUSLY HEARTWARMING SHOW: GOOD MAN AT GEELONG ARTS CENTRE

A hit new Australian rock monologue is coming to Geelong Arts Centre 13-14 March, as local audiences prepare to welcome Good Man — the raw, funny and deeply heartfelt
performance from Geelong’s own fast-growing favourite, Connor Morel.
At 18, Morel met his father for the very first time when the man unexpectedly walked into one of his gigs. That moment sparked a decade‑long question: what actually makes a good man? Through blistering original songs and sharply observed storytelling, Good Man dives into masculinity, the role models we inherit, and the awkward, hilarious, and sometimes painful
lessons that shape us.
Developed through Geelong Arts Centre’s Creative Engine artist‑support program and backed by a live four‑piece band, the show blends the electricity of a rock concert with the
intimacy of a confessional. It’s about the silly things we copy, the small choices that matter, and the moment we realise it’s our turn to grow up.
Following a debut season as Adelaide Fringe Festival, Morel - one of Australia’s most exciting new voices in gig‑theatre - brings a production that promises to make Geelong
laugh, reflect, and maybe even pick up the phone to call their dad.
Good Man marks the first show in Geelong Arts Centre’s REWIRE program – a home for art that opens up bold, daring and unconventional worlds. Audiences can also enjoy the +After
Party; an opportunity to keep the post-show buzz going with a complimentary drink and live DJ in the Red Bar following each REWIRE 2026 performance.
