For two nights only – 29 & 30 August - Perth creative powerhouse The Last Great Hunt bring one of their most decorated performances to Geelong Arts Centre.
Ever dreamt of taking a peek behind the scenes of a movie in the making? Night Night allows to do just that! But not only do you get to witness the incredible special effects and camera tricks, you get to watch the film live in real time.
To your right, performers and creators Arielle Gray and Tim Watts act out and record a mysterious tale set in the icy wilderness of Antarctica. To your left, a projector screen reveals the live theatrical film as it’s being created—offering a rare and thrilling fusion of cinema and theatre.
The story follows scientist Pip as she searches for the origin of life in the frozen desolate landscape. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she encounters a ghostly penguin and a glowing, otherworldly entity. As Pip grapples with the choice between scientific ambition and moral responsibility, the audience is swept along a haunting and imaginative adventure.
Blending puppets, animation and DIY digital magic Night Night is a spellbinding celebration of creativity and innovation in live performance. It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Stick around after the show! Geelong Arts Centre invites ticketholders to their vibrant +After Party held after every REWIRE 2025 performance. With a drink on the house and a pumping live DJ, it’s the perfect environment to wind-down and debrief after the show.
Night Night will be at Geelong Arts Centre from the 29th to the 30th August.
REWIRE 2025 is proudly supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and Major Artistic Partner Deakin University.
