At Creative Engine, we're kicking off 2025 with a major opportunity for 10-12 live performance artists and creatives.

Taking place in the Geelong Arts Centre studios, this three-day intensive program will combine creative and professional skills workshops and mentoring, as well as space to develop your creative concept.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to develop your producing, pitching and creative skills, and learn how to take your work from the page to the stage, and beyond.

Note: Each artist will be paid a $500 honorarium to attend this intensive. Artists will receive honorarium payment via invoice following attendance at the intensive and completion of the debrief survey.

Who is the Artist Intensive for?

  • Independent/self-producing artists creating their own work, such as performers, directors, choreographers, playwrights or other creatives
  • Artists with some experience creating their own work
  • Those with the desire to develop their craft and expand their creative network
  • Artists looking to develop their producing, pitching and creative skills to take their work and practice from the page to the stage, and beyond Geelong

About the Artist Intensive

  • Facilitated and guided by Naarm based Dramaturg & Arts Programmer Mark Pritchard
  • The intensive will allow artists the time and space to develop their concept during creative and professional skills workshops, and to connect with industry leaders, presenters and professional artists, including Joel Bray and Dan Giovannoni
  • Artists apply by pitching a new seed idea to develop across the three day intensive
  • The intensive will culminate in a pitching session in front of industry leaders and presenters followed by a round table discussion and feedback

Artist Intensive Program Overview

Creative skills workshops such as;
• Script writing and dramaturgy
• Movement and devising skills
• Embedding design into creation of new work

Producing skills workshops such as;
• Pitching and marketing
• Budgeting and grant writing
• Making a work tour-ready

Networking and development;
• Mentoring sessions and studio access
• Group dinners and networking time
