We are building a new home for local live music, comedy, theatre, dance and performance in Geelong.

A place for local artists wanting to break into the industry and present their work in an intimate space with the support of Geelong Arts Centre. An incubator of live performance to nurture emerging talent and diverse voices providing an artist-driven and artist-led affordable venue model that cultivates sustainable regional artistic careers. Becoming a renowned regional venue that exposes local audiences to incredible local artists at affordable ticket prices.

Listening to community.

We’ve listened to our local musicians and artists and understand that venue hire, production, staging and marketing costs prohibit presentation of music by younger and independent artists.

They need more support from venues and industry, especially with marketing, ticketing, staging and presentation expertise. Regional artists also shared they need a more youth friendly, local performance venue for original work, as artists regularly travel to Melbourne to get experience on stage.

We aim for The Church venue and program to address these key barriers for our independent and emerging local artists.

However, fundraising is still ongoing to ensure we can provide artists with the support and resources they need to gain hands-on experience producing live events, refine their practice and access an affordable, well-equipped space from day one.
