A traditional celebration of the Chinese Moon Festival Concert
The Moon Festival is the second largest Festivities in Chinese culture, it symbolises family reunion, harvest, and celebration. It is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunar calendar with a full moon at night. In China, people usually call the festival as ‘Mid-Autumn Festival’ because in China August is the autumn session the harvest season.
The 2025 Geelong Moon Festival Concert will showcase two series of Chinese cultural performances and a multicultural show in the middle of the concert. The program will be presented by the Chinse Performing Arts Development, along with local community arts groups.
The Chinese Association of Geelong will provide an opportunity for residents to gain knowledge and get a hands-on chance to learn how to make the traditional Chinese Moon Cake and taste the sweetness.
