Denis Walter OAM has built a distinguished career spanning more than five decades across music, television, and radio. In his latest production, My All-Time Favourites, Denis reflects on 55 years in the entertainment industry, sharing personal stories and musical highlights that have shaped his journey.  

This uplifting show presents a curated selection of Denis’ most memorable moments, combining live performance with anecdotes that capture the humour and heart of a remarkable career. 

About Denis Walter

As Denis Walter celebrates 55 years in entertainment, his story stands as a remarkable testament to his talent and versatility. 

Beginning his career in music, Denis quickly established himself as one of Australia’s most beloved vocalists, earning multiple Gold records, performing at Command Performances, and appearing on countless television programs, including an extraordinary 44 performances at Carols by Candlelight on the Nine Network.

Alongside his musical success, Denis pursued his lifelong passions for news and radio. He spent nearly 16 years as the face of regional Victorian television news, while also contributing to Nine News Melbourne.

Since 1989, Denis has been a familiar and trusted voice on the radio airwaves. A proud member of the 3AW family, he hosted Afternoons for 11 years before taking the helm of Nights, broadcast across Victoria from 8pm to midnight. Under his leadership, 3AW Nights has achieved an incredible 44 consecutive survey wins.

In recognition of his outstanding service to the media and the community, Denis was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2016, followed by the Tony Charlton Community Service Award. In 2025, he was named Star of Victoria for Public Service at the Victoria Day Celebrations.

Most recently, Denis returned to his musical roots with the release of new album, Yesterday Once More, through Sony Music.
