Unfolding (Tapa and Dance) is the collective coming together of Dancer and Choreographers Karlia and Danni Cook and Visual Artist and Traditional Tapa Maker Sue Pearson. Through the interweaving of their respective forms of movement and tapa (barkcloth) they will create a work that is an expression of discovery and upholding of the forgotten layers of their Norf’k Island culture and ancestry.

Bingyao Liu’s Gold Mountain Wives the Musical by Jun Bin Lee explores the hidden histories of Chinese women in Geelong during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, combining original composition, archival research and live traditional instrumentation to foreground migration and belonging.

Psyched
Serah Nathan

Psyched is a dark comedy about Selphy, who checks herself into a psychiatric ward to guilt her ex boyfriend to take her back. She has a plan, and total confidence in it, right up until she realises she's landed somewhere she can't control. Inside the ward she squares off against a fellow patient who is a worthy adversary and refuses to let Selphy get away with self deception. She has increasingly chaotic phone calls from her mother, whose own relationship with denial makes it clear where Selphy learned to operate. The nurse on shift is funny, jaded, and running on empty, which reflects the system she's holding together. At its core, Psyched is about control, and what we do the moment we feel like we have lost it. This is a moved reading with scripts in hand, with one of the actors playing multiple characters.

Show Warnings: This production is recommended for mature audiences aged 15 and over. It contains strong language, adult themes, and references to mental health.
