An Academy at Arts Centre Melbourne workshop
Join Vicky Jacobs for a one-day masterclass in musical theatre vocals.
In this hands-on arts learning experience, students will:
- Work with Arts Centre Melbourne Creative Learning facilitators to explore what an identity as an artist and creative looks like, how it encompasses or enhances certain elements of personality, creativity and community.
- Engage in a creative workshop with Vicky Jacobs to explore different approaches to telling stories through songs both as individual singers and as part of an ensemble.
Eligibility
Academy at Arts Centre Melbourne is a school holiday program for high-ability students in Years 4-12, supported by the Department of Education, through the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series. As such, only students enrolled at a Victorian Government school are eligible to attend. This program is targeted at students whose school reports show high ability in The Arts, showing advanced skills in creative expression. Read more here.
About Vicky Jacobs
Vicky Jacobs has developed a reputation for her ability to get anyone singing at their best - from Australia's top music theatre stars to the most nervous new singers.
Vicky has been the Associate Musical Director on some of the country's biggest musicals including Hairspray, Moulin Rouge, Come From Away, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Jersey Boys, Xanadu and Singin' in the Rain. Vicky has been nominated for a 2023 Green Room Award for her work on Melbourne Theatre Company's production of The Heartbreak Choir.
Vicky is the founder and director of Melbourne’s favourite singalong choir, Glee Club Singing and is proud to be part of the team behind the #1 warm up app, Warm Me Up.
