Legendary songmen Ngulmiya and Nayurryurr Nundhirribala, from the remote homelands of Arnhem Land, present their traditional and ceremonial songs from their new “Catalunya” album, joined by masterful Catalonian guitarist Pau Figueres.

For the first time in Australia, Ngulmiya presents two seemingly different traditions - from Arnhem Land and Catalonia - performed by virtuosos, creating new music that flows like a dream.

Ngulmiya is well known for spearheading collaborations with international artists from his home in the remote sand dunes of Numbulwar, Arnhem Land. His new album “Catalunya” is a stunning and emotive mix of two powerful traditions from opposite sides of the world. A unique album that will forever connect ancient Arnhem Land with traditions from Catalonia and beyond.

Pau is known for embracing and disrupting Flamenco. Ngulmiya uses his powerful and ancient vocal style to tell the story of his family’s long history with the Makassan sailors from Sulawesi, singing in Wubuy and old east Indonesian languages.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see Ngulmiya and Pau perform together.
