For audiences, no two performances will be the same.
A KID WITH A CAMERA. TWO ADULTS. NO REHEARSAL.
Enter the mind’s eye of Bub, an 11-year-old girl who’s obsessed with documentary filmmaking. In the aftermath of a family breakdown, she turns to dramatised re-enactments to try to figure out what happened.
In each performance of this latest docudrama experiment from re:group performance collective, two new, unrehearsed adult actors join a young performer onstage. As she guides them to re-enact her personal experiences, these brave (or foolhardy) performers discover the story on the night, negotiating difficult questions about parenting, agency, mental health and how we speak to children.
There are four adult actors taking part - but only two will perform each night.
Geelong performers Sophia Katos and Natalie O’Donnell along with Charles Purcell and Ana Corbett will take part across the season, stepping into the production’s unique unrehearsed format alongside Yuna Ahn and Grace Tione – each portraying the child lead on different nights.
Bub wants to get to the bottom of her mum’s erratic behaviour. Can these two adults answer the tough questions of a child?

CAST BIOGRAPHIES
SOPHIA KATOS
Geelong local Sophia Katos trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts and has performed in productions including Strictly Ballroom the Musical, directed by Baz Luhrmann, Saturday Night Fever and Funny Girl, as well as television series Wentworth and Packed To The Rafters. She’s also a vocal coach and is raising her young family in Geelong.
NATALIE O'DONNELL
With more than 25 years’ experience across Australia’s leading theatre companies, Natalie O’Donnell has performed with Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company and Malthouse Theatre, and was nominated for a Helpmann Award for her role as Donna in Mamma Mia!. Most recently, she originated the role of Cynthia Murphy in the Australian production of Dear Evan Hansen, following a national tour of Come From Away.
ANA CORBETT
Aotearoa-born actor Ana Corbett is a graduate of Toi Whakaari and a performer, producer and co-founder of UPU Collective, whose internationally touring work UPU has sold out the Sydney Opera House. Her recent screen credits include Shortland Street, Totally Completely Fine and Who Needs Love Songs.
CHARLES PURCELL
Charles Purcell is an award-winning performer, theatre maker, director and dramaturg, and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts. A three-time Green Room Award nominee for Best Performer, Charles has appeared in The Inheritance, Cleansed, Merciless Gods and Anti-Hamlet, and has also been recognised with Green Room Awards for Best Direction and Best Independent Production.
GRACE TIONE
Grace Tione is a young actor, model, DJ and dancer. In 2025 she walked countless runways in Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne, strutting her style at Fashion Meets Music, Kids Fashion Week, Sydney's Best Dressed, Multicultural Fashion Exhibition, and many more. In 2026, Grace featured in a JD Sports campaign, which is currently showcased online and in stores across Australia and New Zealand.
YUNA AHN
Yuna Ahn is a Performing Arts School student with a strong passion for drama and film, expressing her creativity through acting both on stage and in front of the camera. She has performed in drama ensembles, including at the Sydney Opera House, and has screen experience across TV commercials, billboard still shoots, and movie extra roles.
