The music of Queen is set to Rock Geelong in a spectacular new production.
One of the world’s most electrifying stage musicals is set to hit Geelong this February as We Will Rock You takes over Costa Hall for a strictly limited season.
A global phenomenon with a record breaking 12-year run on London’s West End and seen by millions worldwide, We Will Rock You is set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world where individuality and rock music are suppressed by “The Corporation”. Two dreamers, Galileo and Scaramouche, bring rock music, back!
Featuring a script by legendary comedy writer Ben Elton (The Young Ones, Blackadder) with more than 20 of Queen’s biggest hits - including Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, Somebody to Love, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and We Are The Champions - this production promises a high-energy night of live music, big laughs, power-house vocals, and spectacular staging.
This unique pro/am production brings together some of Australia’s leading professional musical theatre talent, alongside emerging performers from the Geelong region, creating a rare opportunity for local audiences to expand on Geelong’s World-Class Theatre experiences, with a strong mentoring program and community connection in mind.
Backed by a live rock band and super-choir, We Will Rock You delivers the music of Queen as it was meant to be heard - loud, live, and epic - with producers saying “The show is designed to appeal not only to our musical theatre lovers, but also to fans of Queen, Freddie and large live music experiences.
