Women of Troy speaks as powerfully to us today as it did to its first audience 2,500 years ago.

Queen Hecuba and her daughter the prophet Cassandra, together with famed beauty Helen of Sparta, rise from the ashes of Troy to share the story of war’s collateral damage.

Euripides’ break-through play lays bare the impact of a prolonged war campaign on women and children. Facing a future defined by loss and displacement, the Trojan women speak out, challenging those who would justify the use of violence in a ‘civilised’ society.
