With Special Guests
BRETT BLAKE
Brett Blake is the first to admit that growing up in Perth he was a little turd. In 2002 he was charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and assaulting a public officer. He was 16 years
old and facing a maximum prison sentence of 10 years. What happened next surprised him, his parents, his lawyers, the neighbours and even the judge. This is a story of the importance of second chances, the hypocritical expectations we have of young people, and how your number one enemy might just end up being your biggest champion.
We may never have got to hear about it, if Blake hadn’t opened up to Wil Anderson as a guest on his Wilosophy podcast and shared his colourful past.
In Little Turd, Moosehead recipient Brett Blake does what only he can – make a story of police brutality, learning disabilities, 90’s parenting and growing up in a shit suburb “funny”.
In the hands of this whip-smart, high-spirited stand up, it’s one hell of a story, and it’ll have you laughing (and thinking about it) long after your night is over.
Brett has starred on ABC TV’s Question Everything and Spicks & Specks. He has regularly appeared on the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala and was a scene stealer in the Jamie Doran thriller The Tourist on Stan. Brett’s comedy special Bogan Genius was released in 2022 on Paramount + and his latest, Go Hard or Go Home, has been racking up the views on his YouTube channel.
MATT STEWART
Matt Stewart started performing stand up comedy, quickly hitting his stride and winning Australia’s largest open mic stand-up comedy competition, RAW Comedy, in 2014. He has performed sell out shows across Australia and the UK since 2015.
Matt also co-hosts the popular AACTA award nominated podcast, Do Go On (and it's spin off Who Knew It with Matt Stewart) which has had millions of downloads from fans across the globe.
MEG JAGER
After entering the comedy scene four years ago, Meg Jager has since won the hearts of the east coast with her acerbic witticisms proving she’s more than just a pair of killer choozzies.
Earning the runner-up title in RAW Comedy 2023, to being cast in 2024 Comedy Zone, Meg is quickly cementing herself as a cutie pie in Australian comedy.
ROWAN THAMBAR
Rowan Thambar is a critically acclaimed stand-up comedian and regular comedy writer at The Project on Channel 10. He’s been nominated for Best Comedy at Melbourne Fringe, was a member of Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Comedy Zone and has been featured on triple j, NOVA and ABC National Radio. This Sydney-born, Newcastle-raised, son of Sri Lankan immigrants now calls Melbourne home.
