Microscopic. Indestructible.
An explosive portrait of the world’s most resilient and curious critters, Tardigrades. Small but mighty, they have withstood multiple extinction periods, survived boiling temperatures and even the vacuum of space. With a surprising cult following, some people call them ‘Water Bears’, others call them ‘Moss Piglets’.
Moss Piglet takes young audiences from jelly-filled petri dishes to the depths of a volcano to Arctic glaciers to the moon; the work explodes the mysteries of the wildly weird tardigrade.
Featuring wicked puppetry, live video and green screen technology, this is an epic ride of microscopic proportions.

Visit the Museum of Modern (f)Art – home of the moss piglet!
Did you know that when they’re not out and about withstanding extreme temperatures or the vacuum of space, moss piglets like to party in the sludge at Geelong’s water reclamation plant?
Come along to Barwon Water’s Museum of Modern (f)Art – right next door to Geelong Arts Centre – to find out how moss piglets and their hardworking besties, such as giant amoebas and rotifers, play a role in cleaning up our wastewater. You can also learn all about sewers, find out what a fatberg is, and join in the interactive fun. And it’s FREE!
Open 4-5 pm on Wednesday 10 June, before the show.
The Museum is located at the base of Barwon Water’s Ryrie Street Building (55-67 Ryrie Street , Geelong VIC 3220), accessible through the Aitchison Place entrance, facing the rear of the Geelong Arts Centre.
