For Schools

“Hello? Mum? I’m calling from the future…”

Danny is a restless young man from Belfast, searching for purpose and adventure. Julia is a Port Fairy local determined to turn her passion for environmental conservation into real action. When they meet on New Year’s Eve 1989, neither knows how far that moment will travel.

Never Always Ever Was follows their story across decades and continents, and into the lives of those who come after. Two performers play a whole cast of interconnected characters, joined by live music that carries the story from place to place.

Intimate and hopeful, it asks what we inherit, what we leave behind, and what it means to call somewhere home.
